Nikky Morgan-Smith’s art practice revolves around explorative and expanded drawing. Her work explores the mind-body problem through somaesthetics. Employing gestural drawing and bodily imagery, Morgan-Smith constructs layered collage and assemblage works.

 

Morgan-Smith has been a finalist in several high-profile art prizes, including the Ravenswood Art Prize, JADA Drawing Prize, Into the Light/White Wall Project, RMIT Women Researchers Network Prize, Olive Cotton Award, Mullins Conceptual Photography Prize, and Still, the National Still Life Award.

 

Morgan-Smith’s work is in private collections nationally and internationally, including Skretting ARC Norway.
